About this event

You are invited to join members of the HTL Wildlife Committee and Stewardship Manager Andrew Schwitzgebel for a volunteer workday at HTL's Moon Hill Preserve in Petersburgh. We will be cutting and removing saplings from existing meadows to create open spaces for grassland birds and other wildlife. The cut saplings will be used to build brush piles to create cover shelter for birds, small mammals, and reptiles.

What to expect & what to bring

This event will involve 2 hours of outdoor work at Moon Hill Preserve. Make sure to dress appropriately and wear sturdy footwear. Some tools will be available to share, but please bring work gloves, loppers, and hand saws if you have them.

About the event leaders

The HTL Wildlife Committee is made up of outdoor minded individuals who seek to facilitate wildlife habitat projects to help native wildlife and promote a healthy forest environment. We work to promote an outdoor environment for everyone to enjoy.
